It began in 1998 when the “Riva Historical Society” association was founded by the engineer Carlo Riva, the architect Piero Maria Gibellini and a group of friends.
Since the beginning, Carlo Riva’s boats have always been a symbol of elegance, savoir-vivre, and love for made with care creations. This was made possible thanks to the respect for tradition, the particular Italian knowhow, the care for details and the research of excellence.
Today, RHS’ challenge is to carry on this tradition: to maintain it and face new projects in the present. RHS has opened up to new horizons and the perfect occasion was for the twenty-year anniversary. During “Fuorisalone 2018”, the RHSHOME concept was presented as a world preview.
Fuorisalone is the set of events distributed in different areas of Milan on the same days when the Salone Internazionale del Mobile takes place. Every year, in April, Salone and Fuorisalone define the Milan Design Week, the most important event in the world for design.
RHSHOME is the first collection designed by Odilia Prisco dedicated to elegance, charm and attention to details and Riva classic tradition, a real excellence in the world of Italian creativity.
The collection represents the lightness and sinuosity of yacht design. It highlights noble materials. Steel is softened by wood and 24k brushed brass while the finishes recall motifs from the nautical sector. The interior of the drawers is made of the same plywood of decks and every surface hides a compartment like in motorboats. Turquoise leather covers the soft and essential shapes chosen by the Designer.
The choice of materials is made in respect of the traditional craftsmanship and with attention to natural and ecofriendly raw materials, as for the padding entirely made of vegetable rubber.
This first collection focuses on 17 living pieces, including: sculptural lamps, tea table, bookcases, armchairs inspired by the seats of the yacht, a sofa and a bar cabinet covered with the renowned turquoise leather. The elegant and sophisticated embroidered logo accompanies the whole RHSHOME collection. This collection is dedicated to a timeless and boundless public. Elegance and attention to details handed down by tradition are the keys of the RHSHOME concept.
