The four best yacht XL

Each of these boats has what it takes to turn heads.

Perfect machines, designed to combine the total comfort expected on this size, both in the cabin and on deck, with extreme performance. Only very powerful engines and surface or, at most, outboard propellers (with at least 2,400 total horsepower). So it is possible to race over 50 knots and see the sea from a different perspective, much more fun and exciting. Between projects under construction, boats ready for debut or real cult models, here are four yachts XL for those who want to experience pure adrenaline.

OTAM 70 HT

The hypercar of the sea, a 22-metre that can touch 53 knots, with an unmistakable line, that of the Genoese yard. Created by BG Design Firm with the engineering and hull lines of Umberto Tagliavini Marine Design, in collaboration with OTAM, without forgetting customisation, a fundamental aspect for the yard.

Hull No. 1 is equipped with two 2,000-horsepower MTU engines, coupled with Arneson transmissions and custom OTAM – Rolla propellers, a custom 3-cabin layout with no tender garage to maximise the beach club area and optimise weight for maximum performance. An up- and – down glass wall connects the interior lounge to the cockpit.

ISA SUPER SPORTIVO 100FT GTO

A fiberglass and carbon fibre hull, a carbon fibre superstructure and three 3,000 horsepower MAN engines on a waterjet propulsion system. The ISA Super Sportivo 100ft GTO fears no comparison and is a 100-footer capable of cruising at 55 knots, making it one of the world’s fastest powerboats in its class. The water lines and aerodynamics were developed by the studio headed by Engineer Arnaboldi, while Marco Casali of Too Design oversaw both the exteriors and interiors. The materials chosen are fiberglass and carbon, studied and developed with the support of the shipyard’s technical office.

RIZZARDI INSIX

The model that paved the way for the success of Rizzardi’s IN range came from the hand of Damiano Rizzardi. A sporty coupĂ© with a truly sumptuous interior, in terms of space and finish. This is how this 20-metre 50-knot yacht has conquered the market. In the engine room you start with the two MAN engines of 1,200 HP each and work your way up to 1,550 horsepower. The thrust is supported by Top – System surface drives with “Easy – trim” system. This solution gives maximum familiarity to those at the controls of the yacht’s top speed, around 50 knots, but also allows for low-speed planing. Low-speed manoeuvrability is ensured by the Xenta joystick on the bridge.

PERSHING 7X

Set to debut in 2020, it has been described as ‘the star of Generation X’. This 21-metre motor yacht retains the sporty, aggressive and streamlined lines that already distinguish all Pershing Generation Xs. Carbon is the basic construction material for lightness and solidity. With Two Man V12 and surface propellers.
